Enough with the partisan standoff
It appears we are no longer a government “of the people, by the people and for the people,” but somewhere along the way morphed into a government “of the politicians, by the politicians and for the politicians.” The impeccable reputation of America has deteriorated to that of a bunch of snotty-nosed party-fanatical squabblers as seen by other countries around the world. This can only leave us extremely vulnerable at a security level. If we fight amongst ourselves, we cannot possibly focus on keeping our boundaries and air space properly safe. With approximately 2 days left before America “goes broke,” and we careen into a full depression, we can do something.
Whether you call Him God, Creator of the Universe, Almighty Father, Yahweh, Great Spirit, Messiah or by another name, whatever your religious belief, your faith values, spirituality or affiliation, I call upon all citizens to remind D.C. that we are not a nation of partisans, but rather, Americans, and we are not being lead by a bunch of omnipotent figureheads. I believe we can pass this on and make it a viral proclamation to every elected official not only in Washington, D.C., but also in every capital city in every state. It is time they come to a full understanding they do not hold the ultimate power, and that the government belongs to “We, the people.”
Ragged, tattered but still waving strong
The Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America says:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.
It is becoming apparent elected officials seem to be overlooking their responsibilities to “insure domestic tranquility…promote the general welfare…” I am convinced we are still the UNITED States of America, and that we the people can and will come together to make a difference. Let this be our prayer of proclamation:
Almighty One, Supreme Source of all Wisdom, Knowledge and Power, Creator of the world, as an American I come to you, asking that your mighty hand of justice fall firmly on our states’ and nation’s capitals…That you will justly call into accountability each and every elected official at every level of our government, requiring of them to be adjudicated based upon their morals, integrity, character and commitment to the constituents they were elected to represent. May those found blameless be lifted up, and may those whose hands are unclean be brought to a place of conviction and responsibility for failing to uphold the office to which they were elected. Pour out your mercy upon our nation, and cause us to come together, blind to denomination, ethnicity or partisanship, to raise up this great nation back to the level where it once firmly stood.

I’ve never attempted such as this before, but I am convinced most Americans have long been weary of the “antics” and “stand-offs” going on in Washington among our elected officials. We are being told checks for Medicare, Social Security and even pay to our military who are protecting our freedom may be withheld. I suggest before that takes place that each of the legislators, all the elected officials, their staff and even down to the pages on the Senate floor be the FIRST to forego receipt of wages.
