MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY – CRIME STOPPERS ANNUAL TRAINING CONFERENCE
On February 7, 2013, Carolyn was a featured speaker, sharing her story as a survivor of child sex abuse and domestic violence. The conference was organized and hosted jointly by the
Mississippi Department of Public Safety Crime Stoppers Division and the University of Mississippi in Biloxi. The audience was comprised of various levels of law enforcement, FBI, judiciary and attorneys, educators, mental health counselors, family therapists, advocates and political leaders. As Carolyn shared pictures of her life story, her topic was “A Survivor’s Story.” The presentation was well received, and approved for CEUs.

U.S. NAVAL AIR STATION – KEY WEST
Our visit to Naval Air Station Key West (Sigsbee)
It was indeed an honor to present a full-day accredited seminar entitled “The Anatomy of Domestic Violence – Through the Eyes of a Survivor” at Sigsbee Naval Air Station, Key West, Florida. I spoke on August 24, 2012, just ahead of the arrival of Tropical Storm Isaac. Our plane made it up and away just in the nick of time.
Much thanks to Commanding Officer Captain Patrick Lefere for his introduction. Having the opportunity to meet and speak to some of our men and women in uniform was a high point of the trip. The staff of Fleet and Family Services did a great job in making us welcome and comfortable. We owe our military a lot for the sacrifices they make on a daily basis.
