Emmy award winning – Taking Action Against Domestic Violence – 2011 campaign

It has been quite a journey, from a young 18-year-old bride, living through 16+ years of domestic violence, then finding a life full of hope, faith, restoration and empowerment – empowerment to reach out and help others who are being victimized today, or struggling in their attempt at becoming a survivor.

ABC Action News annually produces their prime time special, TAKING ACTION AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. The first two years it garnered numerous Emmys. I am honored that they have chosen to cover my story as part of their 2011 campaign. I encourage you to watch the 1-hour commercial free special, airing on Friday, October 14, 2011 at 8:00 p.m., on WFTS (Tampa Ch28). Check your local listings for cable stations (Verizon Ch11). If you live outside the viewing area, you will be able to watch the entire hour on the website link.

I invite you to join me and the ABC team consisting of Linda Hurtado, Wendy Ryan, Lissette Campos and Jamison Uhler as this important and successful special airs. Go back with me to places of my past. We have some special guests who will also be appearing on my segment, and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the surprises. Don’t forget to mark your calendar. And please, share this with all your friends and family members. We are on a mission – to save lives, and give life worth living back to those who have lost their hope for a happy future.

  1. It is my sincere hope that you will share this post with all your friends and family members. That is a small thing to ask, to contribute to helping victims who are regularly beaten down with words or fists – helping them find the way out of their circumstances and on to a place of hope, faith and freedom. Thanks for sharing!!
